KZ - ZEX

KZ ZEX has been engineered from the ground up to deliver superior performance in terms of sound reproduction. The way it is achieved is by employing cutting edge low voltage electrostatic technology in the ZEX. Designed to house a speaker utilising electret driver technology, this delivers consistent and stable sound. Utilising this technology, the ZEX can deliver high-density sound and clarity while reducing distortion levels to a minimum. The KZ ZEX features a unique configuration and combination of driver units, encasing one 6.8mm electrostatic driver and one 10mm dual magnetic dynamic driver that delivers professional-grade sound. The low-voltage electrostatic driver handles the reproduction of high frequencies and ultra-high frequencies, while the dual magnetic dynamic driver is responsible for the mid-frequency and the low frequency. The magnetic force of the dynamic driver added is higher than a standard dynamic driver, this allows for balanced sound distribution. The electrostatic driver ensures much more stable transmission and delivers outstanding reproduction. The combination of the electrostatic and dynamic driver allows the ZEX to accurately reproduce sounds from 20Hz to 40kHz, allowing you to enjoy your music with lifelike clarity.

Comparing the electrostatic driver in the KZ ZEX with a balanced armature driver, the low-voltage electrostatic driver, namely electrets, offers lower distortion and is easier to drive. The performance of low-voltage electrostatic technology, quality and consistency are much more stable than dynamic & balanced armature. The biggest challenge for audio equipment is to provide an accurate sound image with lower THD (harmonic distortion). Electrostatic tweeters can solve the long-standing problem of THD in hybrid driver earphones because they can output sound with lower distortion than balanced armature drivers that offer similar functionality and the KZ ZEX achieves just that. The low voltage electrostatic technology makes it easy to drive the earphone with just 25 Ohms of impedance, allowing it to perform with even a cellphone.

The KZ ZEX earphones feature high-quality materials and expert level craftsmanship. The materials used to design the housing are of high quality making it durable and sturdy. The body is made of cast zinc alloy and imported resin for a seamless design and showcases complex craftsmanship giving it a futuristic look with special optical effects. Premium quality material is utilised to design the casing of the ZEX, allowing for a snug fit, effectively isolating external noise. The cavity is designed to fit the ear canal perfectly and has been designed ergonomically for a comfortable and stable wearing experience. The cable included with the KZ ZEX is of high quality and delivers a distortion-free audio signal. A flat silver-plated cable comes bundled with the ZEX, and this cable enhances audio performance and reduces the loss of signal during transmission. This cable has lower impedance and features a sturdy design making it durable and offering a longer usage life. These cables feature a 2Pin connector on one end and a 3.5mm connector on the other, allowing for easy connectivity with various devices and even allowing for upgradability. The connector plugs are gold plated reducing distortion and allowing for cleaner audio transmission.

The newly developed KZ ZEX features a low-voltage electrostatic driver which is engineered in a manner that just listening to the earphone for 5 minutes is enough to stimulate the potential of the unit. This is truly unheard of and only a little current is needed to show strong performance potential. The included cable with the KZ ZEX features a high-quality microphone for receiving calls and communication. This microphone is a condenser mic capable of transmitting high definition audio. There are quick-access functions assigned to the button in the microphone housing and it allows for receiving calls, rejecting calls, playing/pausing music and changing the songs played. This is truly useful as you don’t need to access your devices to execute these used functions.
